Seattle Renter’s Handbook Requirement

< 1 min read

Seattle has unique and detailed rental laws that differ significantly from surrounding areas. To help new residents understand their rights—and to ensure legal compliance—we provide each Seattle-based resident with a copy of the Seattle Renter’s Handbook at the time of move-in.

As part of onboarding, we recommend that all owners with properties located in Seattle review this resource as well.

When is the Renter’s Handbook Required? #

  • A physical copy of the handbook must be provided at move-in for all new leases in Seattle.
  • Renewals do not require a physical copy, but the resident must have received it at the start of their original lease.
