Your Resident Portal is the central hub for managing your rental—submit maintenance requests, make payments, view your lease, and more. Below is a simple guide on how to access and use it.
1. How to Activate Your Portal #
- You’ll receive an activation email or text from GPS Renting. Click the Activate Now button to set your password.
- You can also self-sign up at: gpsrenting.appfolio.com
→ Click Request Access to the Portal and fill in your information. - Bookmark the login page, add a shortcut icon, or download the AppFolio app for easy access.
- You’ll receive a confirmation email once activation is complete.
2. Sign In and Reset Your Password #
To log in:
Visit https://gpsrenting.appfolio.com/connect/users/sign_in
To reset your password:
- On the login page, click Forgot your password?
- Enter your email address.
- You’ll receive an email with reset instructions (check your spam folder for messages from @appfolio.com).
- Click the Reset Password button and follow the instructions.
3. Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) #
To add extra security to your account:
- Go to the Account Profile tab.
- In the Two-Factor Authentication section, enable 2FA and hit save.
- Use an app like Authy to scan the QR code or enter the code manually.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click Activate.

4. Making a One-Time Payment #
If you see an error saying you cannot make online payments, contact us at care@gpsrenting.com.
To pay:
- Click Pay Now on the Home or Payments tab.
- Choose a saved payment method or add a new one (eCheck, debit/credit card, or Apple Pay).
- Select the amount to pay (Balance Due or Full Balance).
- Review the payment amount, date, and any transaction fees.
- Click Make This Payment Now. You’ll receive a confirmation email.
Payments may take a few days to process. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, please reach out.
5. View Payment History #
To view your full payment record:
- Click the Payments tab
- Select View full account ledger to see a detailed history of charges and payments.
6. Update Your Account and Contact Info #
In the Account Profile tab, you can:
- Change your email, phone number, or mailing address
- Update vehicle information
- Change your password under the Password section
- Passwords must be 8–32 characters with at least one letter and one number or symbol.
7. Set Rent Payment Reminders #
To enable reminders:
- Go to Account Profile
- Under Contact Preferences, select email or mobile push notifications
- Click Save
This works on both the desktop and mobile app.
8. Access Lease and Shared Documents #
You’ll be notified by email when a new document is shared with you.
- Go to the Shared Documents tab to view or download items
- Click Property Details to view or download your lease agreement
9. Upload or View Renter’s Insurance #
- Navigate to the Insurance tab to upload, view, or update your renter’s insurance policy.
- Make sure GPS Renting is listed as an interested party per your lease agreement.
